littlemousling: Yarn with a Canadian dime for scale (Default)
Wow. Awesome night.

Dar played two concerts in a row - I went to the second, from 9:30 to, you know, whenever. She played nine songs (including As Cool as I Am - we all got up and went to the front and danced and sang ourselves hoarse) and then was asked to do a couple more during the Q&A and obliged! It was - awesome, basically. I hadn't seen her in about ten years (I know, WOW) and she's really polished her act, it was very professional and she only slipped up once (and didn't forget any words, a marked improvement over the last time I saw her).

Song list:
Calling the Moon
If I Wrote You
End of the Summer
Mercy of the Fallen
Blue Light of the Flame
The Christians and the Pagans
As Cool As I Am
When I Was a Boy

By-request encores:
O, Canada Girls

Then ... I went to the after-party. No, really, I did! There was alcohol and dancing and someone turned the lights off. I didn't drink, of course, but I danced and talked to people and got interviewed for an article about the concert. It was actually pretty fun, once I got into it a bit, other than the fact that drunk people are useless conversationalists - all they ever say is "I'm kinda drunk" and "Have I mentioned how ... drunk I am?"

Whoo! Too up-up-up-up-up-up (I know, wrong artist) to sleep just yet. Ah, well, it's Friday.
