I love Parade Night.

There's something about the step sing that, I think, conveys the Bryn Mawr atmosphere to the freshmen better than anything else we could do. Sure, they have to hear "If I only had a 4" and "Failure, Failure, Degradation" - but first it's Sophias, Pallas Athena, the Welcome Song. And we close on Bread and Roses - this is my first time getting to sing it, god it's beautiful, I cried - and Goodnight, Goodnight.

It's - I don't know. It's more emotional than a coed school's traditions could be. We laugh, we cry, we dance, we scream "I Will Survive" at the top of our lungs. We Anass. We welcome them, and we cheer with them, and we sing them, if not to sleep, then out of the step sing.
